Cookie policy.
A short note on what this site quietly stores on your device, why that's (usually) fine, and how to switch it off if you'd rather have nothing at all.
1. What's a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember things between pages or visits. Some cookies are strictly required for the site to work; others are optional.
2. Which cookies are used here?
A short, honest list:
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | Stores your choice in the cookie banner so it doesn't reappear on every visit. | 12 months | Essential |
| freebie_dismissed | Remembers whether you dismissed the freebie banner. | 30 days | Essential |
| Mailchimp cookies (only on the newsletter confirmation page) | Set by Mailchimp when you subscribe — to prevent abuse and duplicate signups. | up to 1 year | Essential |
| Google Fonts (no cookie, but a request) | Fonts are served from Google's CDN. No cookie is stored, but your IP address is briefly visible to Google. | n/a | Essential |
| _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) | Set by Google Analytics (GA4) to measure visits anonymously, so I can see which pages get read. | up to 2 years | Statistics |
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to measure visitor numbers. I only use those figures to see which pages work — not to track you personally or to show ads.
3. How do you manage your preferences?
On your first visit you'll see a banner where you can choose: accept everything or essentials only. Want to change your mind later? Use the button below.
Reset my cookie choice ↻You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. The exact steps depend on the browser — a quick search will show you how.
4. Changes
This policy may change if I add or change tools. The date at the top reflects the latest version. For substantial changes the cookie banner will reappear.
